Basic Information on Pilates Rings

Youve probably been hearing about core exercises and Pilates for quite a while and are probably doing it once to thrice a week, youve probably used different DVDs, different styles techniques and different equipment just to get that great body that everybody is drooling about. Hearing of all this, youve probably heard of the Ever present Pilates Ring, the non bulky, and cheaper alternative to all of those bulky machines.

The Pilates ring of course, as its name says, is used in the practice of Pilates, specifically for Winsor Pilates. Winsor Pilates makes use of low intensity workouts that work on the core of the body. By core it means the muscles in the abdomen, back and pelvis. As these are low intensity, these can be done even by those who are of weak health status. But just because it is low intensity doesnt mean itll take a long time for results, or wont have results, in fact Winsor Pilates promise results in a month, when it is used three days a week. Wisnor Pilates is distributed on DVDs.

A Pilates ring however, aside from being used to tone the buttocks and the abdominal and pelvic muscles can also be used to specifically target muscles in the leg, pecs, lats, triceps and biceps. It is an all around exercise accessory that everyone should have. To change position, you can reposition the ring in either your arms or your legs, whatever location it is that you want to tone and improve, and basically and squeezing it. But there is more to a Pilates ring than merely squeezing; anything done wrongly can cause injury, especially when exercising, so before you start, try to consult a certified Pilates instructor.

Pilates rings also have different brand names, and depending on the manufacturer, different resistances. Some manufacturers offer a line of different resistances; some offer just one line with one resistance. It is suggested that you get those that have varied resistances so that youre your body has been used and toned at a certain level; you can further increase your workout by increasing the resistance of the Pilates ring. Some rings have a stronger resistance for a harder workout; some have lighter resistance for a lighter workout. Just remember, make sure that you can take the resistance before rushing into it. Anything, no matter how foolproof can be dangerous if used incorrectly, in short, you might get injured if you use too much resistance. Again, try to consult a certified Pilates instructor before changing resistances.

Pilates rings, boast of foam padded grips for the comfort of the user, these are the parts that make actual contact with the part of the body, making the exercise more comfortable than if done without one. Pilates rings are made of lightweight material, and may be brought with you anywhere, to the gym or at home or during travel.

The Pilates ring is only one of the few accessories, or if you must, equipment that Winsor Pilates incorporates into its program for a better workout. However, you dont really need a Pilates program to be able to use a Pilates ring. Although the ring was made especially for this program, the Pilates ring itself can be incorporated into any other type of exercise program that you currently have, providing that you consult with your instructor.

1 Cardio Trick To Lose Belly Fat - Maximize Your Belly Fat Burn Rate

One of the best ways to lose belly fat is through cardio workouts. Cardio can burn a lot of fat in a relatively short period of time, as long as it's done in the right way to maximize your fat burn rate. The sad thing is, that most people do cardio in a way which doesn't help them to burn the maximum amount of fat and also consumes way too much of their time.

So what is the wrong way to do cardio? Or better yet, what is the 1 cardio trick to lose belly fat fast?

The wrong way to do cardio, which is the more common form you see in gyms, is the long duration, low-medium intensity cardio workouts. You probably know what I mean: people who get up on the treadmill and simply use to it to stroll for an hour, barely picking up their feet. Others may run at a slow pace which may be great for a warm up, but it's not the best way to lose belly fat, not by a long shot.

Not that I blame those people, they've simply been filled with misinformation. They've been led to believe that they need to do long workouts in order to burn any fat at all. Of course you need to do things for a long time if you're doing it at a slow pace like a turtle. Your body barely feels any exertion.

The 1 trick to lose belly fat with cardio involves doing short duration, high intensity, interval cardio workouts. By doing such workouts you get the body to really feel the burden, work your heart through a whole range of beat rates, burn a ton of fat, and do it in less time. The downside is that you need to work hard. If you don't push yourself, you will not be able to burn enough belly fat to make it worthwhile, but if you are prepared to make the effort, you can have a massive cardio workout in 20--25 minutes flat.

So the trick to doing cardio to lose belly fat is to do it a high intensity level which means that you will only be able to keep it up for a short while, and then to lower your intensity level for a while to catch your breath, and push yourself into higher intensity again. If you do this cycle for the entire 20 minutes of workout, believe me, you'll be huffing and puffing, and sweating profusely. What's even better, is that your body will be burning calories a higher rate for a long time afterwards because you've really pushed it to the wall.

Try doing this kind of cardio. If you do just this 1 trick to lose belly fat, you will see and feel the results.

What If You Gained 10 Pounds This Weekend?

I always marvel at the reports I get from men and women who claim to have gained 10 pounds over a weekend. In truth, this is next to impossible. It doesn't matter how much you try to pig out, you just couldn't gain 10 pounds of fat in a weekend. Not even 5 pounds. Nor 3. Maybe 1, but no more.

So despite how much weight you worry you are going to gain this Easter weekend, the truth is, it's tough to actually gain pounds of fat in a weekend.

Take for example the traditional notion that there are 3500 calories in a pound of fat. To even gain 3 pounds of fat over a weekend, you'd need to consume an extra 10,500 calories. Now that's tough. In fact, that's about the number of calories in 19 Big Mac's.

Now please tell me you don't eat 19 Big Mac's in a weekend?

If you do, then you have trouble. Plus, that doesn't take into account the 1500-2000 calories a normal person burns each day. So over a 3 day weekend, you'd have to throw another 10 Big Macs into your diet to gain the 3 pounds in one weekend for our example. So let me know how eating 29 Big Macs in 3 days turns out.

I really hope no one tries that!

Also, take a look at this study. Researchers from Virginia State University gave men an extra 1000 calories per day for 8 weeks. For most people, that would be a tough challenge to eat that many extra calories unless they were eating all types of junk food.

By the end of the 8 week study, the men gained an extra 11 pounds. That's 11 pounds after 8 weeks of "pigging out", not just a weekend where they went to the Outback Steakhouse and had a "Blooming Onion".

Reference: Obesity 15:3005-3012 (2007)

What most people see on the scale after a weekend of "road trip eating" is just an increase in fluid retention due to the high-sodium and high-carbohydrate diet, as well as some fat (but certainly not 10 pounds of it in only 48 hours).

So the next time you get off track with your weekend eating and are shocked to discover that you've gained 10 pounds, just take a deep breath and realize that is not an accurate measurement of the real damage.

If you get off track, just focus on getting back in charge of your nutrition, sticking to whole, natural foods, and cutting out the high-sodium, high-carbohydrate processed snacks. This shouldn't be too hard, because you'll probably feel terrible from the weekend's junk food.

In addition to returning to fruits, vegetables, nuts, and protein for your meals during the week, make sure to add three total body resistance training workouts and 3 interval cardio workouts to help you burn fat and return to your normal weight.

Start with a bodyweight warm up, then do resistance training supersets to boost your metabolism, and then finish the workout with fat burning interval training.

If you do that, you'll lose weight, not gain fat!

What's The Best Exercise For You?

There are many types of exercise programs to include: building muscle, losing weight, increasing stamina, improving heart or lung problems, etc. But there is only one unique exercise that stimulates every cell in your body.

The exercise is rebounding!

While being easy and fun to do, it has a tremendously favorable impact on your immune system. This in turn can lead to many far reaching benefits such as an increase in stamina, mental clarity, better vision and balance, decrease in back or joint pain, and a host of other health improvements.

Rebounding data collected and presented by leading health experts has been confirmed by NASA and the United States Air Force, among other reliable organizations.

With the advent of the mini trampoline in recent years, you now can easily place this simple piece of equipment in your home or office. People who exercised on a mini trampoline for 15-30 daily have discovered the far reaching benefits of rebounding.

Even if you bounce up and down without your feet leaving the trampoline, you can enjoy the benefits of this exercise. It can be used by children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and even people recovering from an injury or illness. Professional athletes can also do this exercise at a higher level of intensity.

You can join a health club that provides all kinds of equipment to include stationary bikes, treadmills, indoor tracks, bar bells, etc. at a monthly cost in the neighborhood of $20-30 a month, or with a modest investment in a mini trampoline, you could achieve some significant health benefits in the comfort of your home or office.

Who Succeeds at Long-Term Weight Loss?

Is true long-term weight loss really possible?

We've all heard the statistics that say most people who lose weight will gain most of it back again in a very short amount of time. Those statistics can be discouraging, because losing a significant amount of weight, from 5% to even 25% of your total body mass, is hard work and it takes a huge commitment.

If you get help from a weight loss clinic or doctor specializing in obesity, the process can be expensive, too. How can you know if you'll be one of the "biggest losers" who manages win the long-term weight loss battle?

The National Weight Control Registry (NWCR) has the resources to actually study this issue, and their findings are important clues to the odds of losing weight and keeping it off.

They have the voluntary participation of over 4,000 members who have lost at least 30 pounds, and who have kept it off for at least one year. The greatest value of this program is that they study the successes, as much as they study the failures, so they are learning what works as well as what doesn't.

The successful folks, the ones who lose their excess pounds and manage to stay thin over a long period of time, have a number of things in common:

1. They eat breakfast, usually consisting of cereal and fruit.

2. They continue to eat a low-calorie, low-fat diet.

3. They're active, and stick with their exercise program even after they've thinned down. Most participate in some form of physical activity for at least an hour a day, with walking being the most common form of exercise.

4. They get on the scales at least once a week.

5. They maintain their weight for at least two years after the weight loss - in other words, the longer you keep it off, the lower your chances of getting fat again.

What are the risk factors?

People who start to regain their weight seem to have some common traits, as well. Of particular importance is maintaining control of your eating habits. People who regain at least part of their weight tend to have periodic losses of control, and may experience occasional bing eating.

The folks who keep on the same eating schedule and diet every day of the week, and even on holidays, tended to keep their weight stable. Those who fluctuate with their diet are more likely to get lax about the amount of calories they consume, and the numbers on the scale start creeping back up.

Depression has a significant effect on the study's participants, as well. Frequent bouts of depression or dark mood swings makes regaining the weight more likely. Since depression is now seen as a medical condition, and many treatment options are available, it makes sense to talk to your doctor about this issue if you need to.

Keys to successful long-term maintenance of a healthy weight:

Stay active, remember your commitment to a low-calorie, low-fat diet every single day, and seek help for depression if mood swings affect your eating choices.

And remember - the longer you keep the weight off, the easier it is to stay thin, so commit to staying vigilant with your diet for at least two years. Success with long-term weight loss is possible - and you could be one of the "biggest winners".

Where To Get Weight Loss Advice

It really amazes me who people take advice from...

If you are going to take advice from someone, make sure they have the results (their body) to back up what they're teaching.

Most of the inaccurate information out there is circulated by people who have no real grasp of what it takes to achieve effective and permanent weight loss.

If you were learning to play basketball do you think it would be smarter to learn from an NBA player or a fifth grader who had yet to learn the fundamentals?

Keep in mind however, that many people will tell you with complete conviction to do things that simply do not work.

Take a good look at the people who give you health and weight loss advice. Are they lean and fit? If the answer is yes then this person could very well be a credible source of good information, but if the answer is obviously no then why would anyone listen to them?

OK, I know this sounds incredibly simple and obvious right?

Except for the fact that this is how millions of people get their advice! You can respectfully listen (no need to argue) but then you'll most likely need to disregard a lot of what you may normally hear. People mean well, yet the truth is that most are ignorant as to what it really takes to make dramatic progress quickly and effectively.

As Albert Einstein said, "The significant problems we face cannot be solved by the same level of thinking that created them."

And I'll also tell you right now that your new habits might strike some people as not being "normal" by their standards.

You should take this as a good sign because "normal" is the majority. You and I both know what the overall state of health is for the majority, don't we? This is why you should want to be abnormal. And let it also be known that living life lean may have become uncommon, yet this doesn't mean that it is not natural.

It is.

So the point here is that many people are simply the victim of poor advice. Often it's the equivalent of a get rich quick scheme for the body.

Trust me, I know how tempting it can be to listen to some of the claims being made. But again, my advice to you here is simple: Listen to Doers. By this I mean people who actually practice what they preach and have the body and physical vitality as proof.

I also recommend that you seek out people that have the exact body that you wish to manifest. These are the people who you want to study. Get as much detailed information as possible regarding their diet and exercise habits. This information is worth its' weight in gold because it's coming from a credible source.

Actually, even better would be to find people who have the body that you desire but were once overweight and out of shape.

This is where you can really begin to find some empowering knowledge that you can act on.

This is called "modeling" and it is a proven shortcut to success that I recommend. Just make sure that your "model" has kept the weight off for some time (at least six months) and is not a flash in the pan.

Why Snacking Works In Weight Loss

I love to snack. I love the satisfaction of crunching on something salty and following it up with something sweet. I am a self-proclaimed snackoholic. Most people when they think of weight loss, they immediately cut out snacking. What a shame! Without snacks, our lives would be dull with only three square meals each day. I will change your perception of snacking by showing you how choosing the right snacks will help you lose weight and feel better throughout the day.

Why we snack:

There are many reasons why we choose to snack. Sometimes it is because we are bored. Maybe it's because we had a stressful day. Other times, it is because we are simply hungry. If you are truly hungry, even at night, you should have a snack. The key is to snack for the right reason with the right balance of foods. When our bodies are used to eating high sugar, high fat "junk" foods we begin to crave these types of foods. Let's face it: fat, sugar and salt taste good. They may make us feel better temporarily, but after our bodies digest these types of foods, we usually feel worse than before. These sugary, high fat foods will raise our blood sugar levels very quickly giving us more energy, but they will also cause our blood sugar to come crashing down at a very fast rate. This can make us feel tired, sluggish and irritable.

It's important to train your mind to think differently about snacks and your eating habits so you begin to crave the right types of foods. It is also important to keep in mind that a snack should be designed to keep you satisfied until your next meal; it shouldn't fill you up completely.

Snacking can raise your metabolism:

When most of us think of dieting, we think of ways to cut out foods or meals. We automatically restrict and deny ourselves food in hopes that we will lose a lot of weight. Well, that usually works against us, especially when we stop dieting. The key is to eat every 4-5 hours. If you have breakfast at 6:30 am and lunch at noon, you need to eat a mid-morning snack. By restricting snacks, you are putting your body into starvation mode and actually slowing down your metabolism. If you frequently eat healthy foods, you will add "fuel to your fire" and contribute to burning more energy and increasing your metabolism. Always remember that you should be focusing on lifetime changes, not just short-term weight loss goals. Eliminating snacks forever is not realistic, but changing your snacking habits will provide you a lifetime of benefits.

The good, the bad and the ugly:

There are snacks that are really good for us, and those that are not so good for us. When planning your snacks, you want to consider a balance of lean proteins (like nuts, lean meats and low fat cheeses) with a whole grain or high fiber food (like fruits, vegetables, whole grain breads or crackers). Some examples of snacks for a mid-morning energy boost could be a low-fat yogurt, 1 ounce of nuts with a piece of fresh fruit, a high fiber/high protein granola bars, or 1 Tablespoon of peanut butter spread on some whole grain toast. Stay away from the high calorie, caffeine-coffee drinks and muffin from your favorite coffee shop. You could end up consuming around 800 calories and 30 grams of fat from one snack! Stick to snacks that are around 200 calories. If you are feeling sluggish mid-afternoon, try reaching for a whole grain pita and some hummus or make your own trail mix with dried fruits, granola, nuts and some small chocolate pieces. You will have a lot more energy from foods that fill you up, rather than a bunch of empty calories. Also, stay away from drinking soda pop. Try keeping water with you all day and sip on it. Water will give you the feeling of having more energy than a sugary soda. If you tend to snack at night in front of the television, try occupying your mind with a new task. Try crossword puzzles, knitting, or scrap booking. Place your snack food in a small bowl, instead of taking the whole bag with you. This will help you with portion control. And, when thinking of snacks, remember "out of sight, out of mind". If it's not in the house (or at the office), you will be less tempted to eat it!

Treating yourself:

We all like to treat ourselves every once in awhile. The key is moderation. Try healthier options of your favorites and eat less of these high fat, high sugar foods. And, remember it is okay to have a treat. Don't beat yourself up for eating a chocolate chip cookie or having a piece of cake at a birthday party. These special occasions are part of our lives and should be enjoyed. Just remember to balance these foods out with plenty of healthy foods and exercise and you will be on your way to your weight loss goals!

Something is only a "secret" as long as no one knows about it. The "truth" about weight loss has been known for a long time, so it's not really a secret.

If you take a look at the label of most diet pills, drinks, meal substitutes, diet books, and other weight loss problem, you will begin to notice that they often have one thing in common. Again and again, they have statements that say something to the effect of "...when used with exercise and proper nutrition."

The secret is, that most, if not all of these diet products at best only ASSIST in what nature can do almost perfectly well without their help!

The basic biology and physics of weight gain and weight loss has been known for years! Even if your math wasn't too good in school, this equation is easy. Take in more calories than you burn...you gain weight. Burn more calories than you take in...you lose weight. The problem, and it's not a secret, is that we are human!

SO WHAT'S WRONG WITH BEING HUMAN, BUD!

There is nothing wrong with BEING human. In fact, sometimes I even talk to one. I have a couple of human friends, one lives next door (I think), and I would even let my daughter marry one. The problem is that each human is, as Sister Mary Fides used to drum into our teenage human skulls, unique. This means that if I show you the perfect weight loss program and it works like a charm for you, your next door neighbor might have a problem making that exact program work for her or him.

WHY WOULD A WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM WORK FOR ONE PERSON AND NOT ANOTHER?

As Shakespeare has Cassius say in Julius Caesar, "The fault, dear Brutus, is not in our stars, but in ourselves...!"

Now, I am NOT saying that it is YOUR FAULT, per se, but the difficulty of making one magic thing, even the perfect weight loss program, lies in the very uniqueness that makes us so human.

One person inherits some genes that tend to make them fatter than others. Another person would have been a lot smaller, but they were raised in a home where a type of cooking or lifestyle was common that encouraged them to grow fatter. Someone else experiences some severe emotional ups and downs that contribute to bad eating habits that cause them to gain weight. Nature designed some chemical changes in our bodies to meet certain needs, and we changed OUR natural surroundings so that these changes now work against us rather than serving us. And if any one of those isn't enough, most people who are overweight actually have more than one of these things going on, and some of them actually increase the affect of other contributing factors!

We have other differences that make it difficult to create a one-size-fits-all weight loss program. Your brother-in-law loves to work out with weights, but that bores you to tears. Your neighbor has a Bowflex and you think it is great, but you travel a lot and can't figure out how to take a Bowflex with you! Your cousin lost a lot of weight on a certain diet, but your metabolism is different, and you didn't really lose any weight when you tried it. In fact, you tried diet after diet and actually GAINED weight! By the way, it is fairly common to gain weight when you try a lot of different diets. It's slightly complicated to go into here, but often when you go on a diet and then come back off of it, your body has learned to get by on fewer calories. Once you go back to eating like you used to, it now has extra calories to store as fat. Remember our equations up above?

There are also many people who want the "lose 30 pounds in 30 days" promise to be true. They have been so upset over their weight for so long that they want to believe that almost any claim is true, no matter how silly it seems, or how dangerous to their health it actually is!

CAN'T I JUST CUT WAY BACK ON CALORIES?

Probably, you (and I) could stand to cut some of the calories out of our daily diet. However, there is a point at which the body resets some internal bells and whistles, and we may actually begin to gain weight. Also, cutting out food means cutting out the nutritional elements our body needs to be healthy.

WELL, I CAN'T JUST SPEND MY DAY EXERCISING FROM DAWN TO DUSK!

That was the other side of the equation, wasn't it? Well, you're absolutely correct, and I would begin to worry about you if you did. You don't have to go to that extreme. There is a solution.

WHAT? YOU'LL SIGN ON AS MY PERSONAL TRAINER?

Nope! I'm too lazy for that, but YOU can sign on as your personal trainer. That is, you can do a little experimentation, find some activities you like and begin doing one or more of them on a regular basis...three or four times a week, let's say. You could garden, ride a bike, play with the kids or grandkids, take a walk, do some yoga, lift weights...the list goes on. You don't have to do all of them every day, and if you find one you really like, you can do it several times a week if you want. One thing to remember, of course, is that you should ease into any program and only increase it once you are sure that you are fine at the level you are at...and then, increase it gradually. I've seen some champion bodybuilders who started out lifting just the barbell with no weights on it at all, and I know of runners who started out by walking to the mailbox and back. In the army, I used to run six miles or more, but when I started running, I barely got a block down the road before I had to drop back to walking.

Start making some small changes to your diet as well. I am using the word "diet" in this case to mean the things you eat, not some particular diet. Start popping a multivitamin every day. You may find that helps make you feel a tiny bit more energetic. Cut out sugar. As much as I don't like artificial sweeteners, they are probably going to be better for you than sugar. If, like me, you worry about the effects of artificial sweeteners, try stevia. My wife and I have been using it for some time. It took a little getting used to, but I have noticed a definite decrease in heartburn and carb cravings.

Educate yourself about nutrition and exercise. You don't have to take a college course. If you are reading this online, you can go to webmd.com or mayoclinic.com/ and get a lot of great health, fitness, and weight loss information.

Read food labels, and start thinking about what you are putting in your mouth. Most of us can look at some foods and realize that they might not be good for us, at least not in large quantities, so cut you portion sizes. Don't know what a portion size is? Look on the label!

Stay away from prepackaged foods, junk food, fast food, or learn enough about them to make intelligent choices.

SET SOME GOALS

This is where I'm supposed to tell you to decide to lose X number of pounds in Y number of days, right? Wrong. This is where I tell you to start setting some performance goals about how you are going to try to live. I say "try" because you WILL slip from time to time, and there will be times you will just have to make do in a situation and eat that Big Mac, darn it! Go ahead, make the sacrifice and eat it, but then get back on the wagon. Don't worry about a Big Mac or a single bowl of ice cream or even a binge after you catch him/her cheating on you. The occasional dietary sin will not send you plunging back into fat hell...unless you let it.

ON THAT NOTE....

Grow up, take charge, and quit looking around for someone or something to blame. Oh, maybe there are a lot of reasons why you got fat, and maybe they are reasons that you had no control over, but the point is that losing weight is going to happen today and tomorrow, and it is going to depend on the future choices you make, not on what the past has done to you. My father, who was a good man otherwise, was an alcoholic. I cannot let that change who I am going to be today or tomorrow, unless I use it as an incentive to be better because of it.

Weight Loss Pills That Don't Cause Jitters

You finally decide it's time to lose weight, but you know you need a little help getting there. Maybe you have tried weight loss pills before, but they gave you a horrible headache, made you feel sick, and you were shaky. There are weight loss pills that don't cause jitters that are all natural and they do the trick.

You can get some safe and all natural weight loss supplements that jumpstart your diet just as well as the strong pills do. You don't have the side effects with natural supplements and it's much safer to take them long-term if you feel like you need to stick with a program until it becomes a permanent lifestyle change for you.

When you gain weight it's very likely your metabolism has slowed down and is now sluggish. Sometimes you will want to take supplements just to get your metabolism revved up before you tackle the whole dieting thing on your own. It's difficult enough to lose weight, so why not take weight loss supplements, as long as they are natural and safe.

Of course before you take any strong, possibly dangerous weight loss pill, and even weight loss supplements that are natural and made from plants for instance, you should still check with your physician first. You want to do that especially if you are taking any prescription medicine. Your physician's office can even answer your questions over the phone instead of making a trip in.

Most of the weight loss products on the market today are a bit spendy. Sometimes you are paying for sneaky type companies that put "fillers" in their product and you just never know, unless you see that they have quality certificates. If they charge much less than the other company or brand, you might be cautious about purchasing from them.

When selecting weight loss pills that don't cause jitters, of course those are the supplements that are all natural, try to find one that has an appetite suppressant in it. Losing weight is all about speeding up your metabolism and reducing your daily caloric intake. If you don't have much of an appetite, and you eat less, you will lose weight. You don't want to starve yourself, but when you are hungry you can be more aware of your food choices. Instead of eating fatty, sweet, or processed foods, choose lean meats, whole-grains, fruit and vegetables. You will lose weight quicker and you'll be healthier as well.

Healthy Weight Loss Tips

There are so many kinds of diets out there, some work better and some don't work at all. But even those that work don't help you keep your new weigh for long. And even more important - Not all of these diets are healthy.

Loss weight gradually

If you want to loss weight gradually then you should aim to decrees 200-500 calories from your standard amount of calories. Your goal should be to loss fat and your body burns the fat in a rate of 200-500 calories a day (depends on your physical activity, weight, nutrition and the amount of oxygen in the air). Meaning:

1. If you weigh more - the more fat you would burn.

2. The better your physical condition - the faster you'll burn fat.

3. If you won't consume any carbohydrates - you will have a harder time to burn your fat.

4. If you are doing any aerobics activity then your fat will get burned the fastest.

Remember - if you'll loss more than 500 calories a day - That's 3500 calories a week, a bit over a pound. If you loss more than that then you are losing muscles, liquids and more essential ingredients.

It's a slow process but you will see results for the long run.

Your daily menu

The right diet menu is the one that includes 55%-60% carbohydrates, 15% proteins and up to 30% fat from your daily calories needs. If you are an athlete you should increase the amount of proteins. If you suffer from diabetes then you need to make some personal adjustments.

Most of the problems begin when you eat a lot of carbohydrates in a very short time - your body can't handle that many carbohydrates and it turns them into fat. That's why you should eat more meals a day but make each one smaller. It is also preferred to eat healthier carbohydrates like whole-wheat flour and unprocessed cereal. A rule of thumb here can be to try and eat natural food or at least foods that are closer to nature.

Another thing to remember is that our body contains 60% of water. If you eat fewer carbohydrates then your body observes less water and you think that you are losing fat when you are actually losing water.

Weight loss is a way of life

Weight loss is a way of life - if you will treat it as temporary thing then you'll surely gain back your weight in the future. Don't fall for those miracle weight loss pills, a diet like everything else in life demands some work. The only healthy and fast way to loss weight that i came across so far is Hoodia but you can read more about it in my healthy weight loss blog. So if you are not ready to make a real change in your life - its ok but when you decide to try to loss some weight - make sure that you are prepared to make some sacrifices. And when you choose your diet program or your diet products please make sure that it is a healthy one and that it won't cause you any damage in the future.

I truly believe that anyone can succeed in losing weight - it is just a matter of strong will and choosing the right diet for you.

My name is Kris Dugan and I was a very fat kid. Since I remember myself I was always reading or trying some diet so I actually see myself as a big expert in this field. And not because I learned more or read more about losing weight than others, but because I DID IT and i m talking from experience. So be sure to visit my healthy weight loss blog.

Be Slimmer Weight Loss - A Little Known Secret To Losing Weight Easily

If you commit to it, then weight loss is really not that difficult. It really just comes down to exercising and eating properly. However, it can be difficult to know exactly what kind of food you should be eating, and many people get it wrong. So here's an absolute secret that clients pay me big money for time and time again...

When someone comes to me who has a stomach that just keeps getting bigger and bigger I limit him or her to water and green tea. That's it that is all that you can drink. Green Tea has so many positive health benefits that I actually give a list of 25 benefits to all of my clients and both drinks contain close to zero calories.

Yes this isn't original information but no one is doing it. Everyone cuts carbs but keeps sugary drinks in their diet. I know that it's hard to just stop whatever you've been doing for so long so just try to add a cup of water and green tea in a day as a replacement for something that you are currently drinking.

Yes I know that juice tastes good and current marketing even points to the vitamins that it contains but that is a lie. Juices are loaded with sugar and there is nothing "natural" about sugar, even in orange juice. No it isn't ok to drink sugar free or diet versions since that just prolongs your habits as well.

So my advice for today is to add in green tea and water. Drink as much as you want and always keep a bottle filled with water by your table or desk. You'll notice immediate changes in your energy and body as well.

How to Lose Weight

It's not easy to figure out the "magic" formula on how to lose weight. It is a challenge for many of us, since we all have an individual path to the quickest weight loss. Any diet should have a foundation of proper diet and exercise, which will not only help you lose weight, but will also keep you healthy, and when you're healthy, you look better too.

You can use these simple guidelines, which have successfully been used by others:

You will need:

- Cookbooks for healthy meals.

- Your food, diet, and exercise journals.

- Stock up on healthy foods.

Step 1:

Take small steps. If you want to lose 40 pounds or so, decide what increments you can live with, say losing 5, 10, or 20 pounds, and take a breather in between.

Step 2:

Stick with foods you enjoy. Learn to prepare them in healthful ways. The more you are enjoying what you are eating, the more likely it is that you will continue on the path to making wiser food choices, and will shed those pounds!

Step 3:

Put a lot of fiber into your diet. High fiber content keeps you full longer. Lower calorie fiber foods would include vegetable pastas, popcorn (without the butter), oatmeal, and many vegetables are high in fiber, such as celery.

Step 4:

Start an exercise program. If you can't do a sit-up, start out with stretches and touch your toes. Pick exercises you can live with, and build up to as many exercises in one session as you can. If you detest exercising, dancing is a form of exercise too.

Step 5:

Carry healthy snacks with you at all times to avoid the pitfall of buying fast food or eating out of vending machine when you are starving!

Fast weight loss is harder to maintain. Remember that when you lose weight gradually, you are more apt to keep the weight off for good. The conventional wisdom for optimum weight loss is one-half to 1-1/2 pounds per week.

Weight Loss Camps For Adults

Weight loss camps for adults first materialised during the early 1980s and were based on the familiar summer camp experience. These camps, not only for adults, but teenagers alike, are an excellent choice for those looking to find healthy ways to lose weight, gain motivation, and with the added benefit of meeting and making new friends along the way. Weight loss camps for adults, or fitness holidays, are now becoming as popular as following well known diet plans.

In the early days, such activities were known as "fat farms" or "boot camp" weight loss programs. These early programs failed to address essential behavioural and emotional experiences, such as body image and body acceptance issues. True effective weight loss management is about understanding the patients emotional experiences as well as the physical problems to be overcome.

Many experts would agree that results are short-lived because true behavioural change can only occur with the understanding of healthy living principles, and how to deal with related emotions and stresses the patient may well be experiencing in everyday life. A good weight loss camp should not just be about diet and exercise but about tailoring a programme to meet individual needs.

Thankfully, weight loss camps for adults have come a long way since those early days of the 1980's. The key to successful weight loss is making changes in your eating and physical activity habits that you can keep up for the rest of your life. A good weight loss camp will develop an exercise and nutrition program specific to each individual needs and capabilities that can be continued long after leaving the camp. The staff of a good camp should include qualified counsellors, nutritionists, registered dieticians, psychologists and exercise physiologists. Each plays a very important role in providing a complete programme to promote healthy living.

For families wanting to work together, there are weight loss and fitness camps consisting of communities of parents, children and staff working together to achieve the same fitness goals. These camps are designed to help adults and children alike embrace a healthy lifestyle, and discover just how fun and rewarding it can be for the family to get fit and stay fit together. Many families who enrol on these programs lose weight and return home feeling fitter and more motivated to continue a more healthy active lifestyle.

If you are looking for a fun but hard work way of finding much needed motivation to lose weight and get fit, then weight loss camps for adults can be an excellent starting point for losing excess body fat and starting a new healthy and fitter lifestyle.
